From my home in Hainford, Norfolk, where I live with my husband and dog Rudy, I enjoy long peaceful walks in the unspoiled countryside. I love to watch the sunrise and all the local wildlife burst into action. The simple things bring me so much pleasure.
About Me
I am passionate about my garden and growing organic fruit and vegetables. Nothing brings me more joy than seeing my garden fully in bloom covered in bees and butterflies whilst picking and eating my fresh produce.
I also love keeping fit and am always going on long bike rides to explore the beautiful countryside near me.
My Story
I have always been passionate about how the mind works. Even as a child I questioned a lot. I wanted to know why people acted and did the things they did. I was curious about how some people always seemed happy and upbeat - even when they were going through difficult times. And others not so much.
Through my teens I struggled with my mental health. I experienced low moods and depression and I didn’t understand why. I went to a GP and he said to me ‘You have depression. You will always have it on and off and it is something you will have to learn to live with’.
He then prescribed me anti-depressants without asking anything about my life.
This was such a powerful thing for him to say. It stuck in my mind for years, every time I was happy, I believed it wouldn’t last, as depression might come back. He made me believe that it was out of my control, and there was nothing much I could do about it.
Thank goodness we know more nowadays!
I started off my working career in offices and call centres. I then went on to get a job as a receptionist working at Hertz - a car and van hire company. I ended up working my way up to being the branch manager. I learnt my craft here. I learnt about people, what made them tick and how to get the best out of my team of staff and customers. I learnt how to keep my customers happy and to really recognise their needs. I built some fabulous relationships with my customers, who were very loyal.
After about 10 years in the motor industry, I felt like I was ready for a new challenge.
So...I studied for a professional Diploma in hypnotherapy and psychotherapy at Brighton University. I also studied at The Coaches Training Institute and completed the fundamentals coaching course. I also completed a Neurolinguistic Programming Master course (NLP), Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Level 3, and a Matrix Reimprinting course. In addition to all of the courses, I have read hundreds of books by all the greats at the top of their game in the mental and physical health world.
I felt ready to set up my own therapy practice helping others...and I have never looked back.
